Explore Münsterland on Shank’s pony
The picturesque parkland-like countryside with its avenues of trees and gently rolling hills turns every walk into a marvellous opportunity to enjoy the divers wonders of nature.
The Münsterland hiking network covers some 2,300 km of walking trails that are divided into 24 main routes. Interconnecting paths make it easy to combine trails into walks of 15 km and 20 km. Volunteer trail wardens from the Westphalian Heimatbund work very hard to ensure that the paths are all well maintained. Not only do they make sure that the trails are clearly signposted they are also always researching new paths to add to the network.
