Palaces and Castles
Once upon a time Westphalia is reported to have had some 3000 moated castles and stately homes. Even today there are still over 100 palaces, castles and manor houses from glorious times long gone. The wealth of moated castles is enough to send those of a romantic nature into a swoon whilst historians wax lyrical over the castles and fortresses.
