A wedding at Schloss Velen is assured of being one of the most beautiful days of your life. Many couples have already made their vows to each other here and they were all delighted with this fairytale setting: a civil ceremony in our beautiful balconied room affording views over the courtyard or a church wedding in our 13th century Gothic chapel with its baroque altar and chest organ.
The sumptuous reception is compiled in close consultation with you and regardless of whether you want a gala menu or a buffet, our catering team will use its full range of culinary skills to ensure the success of your reception. In our beautifully decorated orangery you can enjoy bands or a DJ until the early hours.

Civil ceremonies
SportSchloss Velen is constantly working on being the setting for your dream wedding. In addition to the opportunity for a church wedding in our 13th century Gothic chapel we also offer the option of a civil ceremony in the Schloss. The SportSchloss Velen balconied room above the entrance and the Weiße Salon in the Orangery are both fairytale settings for a civil ceremony.
A further advantage of holding your wedding at the SportSchloss Velen is that we can be extremely flexible with the timing of your ceremony. Weddings can be held on weekdays as well as on Fridays until 5 p.m. and on Saturdays until 4 p.m. as well as at other times by prior arrangement according to your needs and wishes. The ceremony is followed by an open-air reception in the Schloss courtyard.
Schloss chapel
The chapel was built in the 13th century and underwent restoration in 1696 under the watchful eye of Hermann VII von Velen. The chapel which is located in the tower next to the main entrance is still just as beautiful today as then. The beautifully carved altar also dates back to 1696. By using the gallery as well, the chapel can seat up to 70 people.
