The SportSchloss Velen at a glance
Stylish buildings, romantic green, art historical treasures – a diversity grown over centuries shape the SportSchloss Velen. The hotel has more than 102 guest rooms and suites which are divided up into three categories on a total of five buildings: Our castle rooms are situated in the main building, further rooms are in the three front buildings and excellent standard rooms are in the old forest warden’s (ranger’s) office.
The SportSchloss Velen is well prepared for meetings, conferences and conventions with a total of 21 seminar rooms with a capacity up to 200 persons. Nine rooms are situated in each case in the main building and in the “Orangerie” (Orangery Palace) from the 18th century which is superbly suited also for festive events. Three other conference rooms house the “Remise” (coach house), where, in addition, the biggest room is situated with 200 square meters.
As a member of the association “So tastes the Muensterland”, we bank in catering on regional cuisine coupled with international sophistication. The castle restaurant in the main building offers seats for 150 guests; the vaulted cellar of the “Orangerie” with its open “show kitchen” holds 120 people. The historical pheasant house in the zoo invites for coffee and cakes, but also for summery barbecues.
We offer everything for our guests what you can expect from an excellent hotel: bar, swimming pool, fitness room, sauna, ballrooms and party halls, terrace and much more. We take complete care of your wellbeing! Sports are important to us as befits a sports castle – from tennis via golf up to archery and bicycling.
